I Like Negative People - They Are More in Touch With Reality

I think negativity gets a bad rap. Anyone who says that they don’t have a negative bone in their bodies is either just plain stupid, naïve, or in denial. Step back and take a look at life. Negative things happen all the time. Sure, nobody wants to dwell in a pit of misery, but that doesn’t mean you should pretend to be happy all the time. Negativity creates humorous beauty such as sarcasm and wit. It would be a very dull & contrived world if everyone acted like a giddy school-girl 24/7. Negative people serve up a dose of reality, that we could all stand to embrace. Just remember that pretending to be happy doesn’t actually mean you are. Personally, I think the ones that try the hardest to put on a happy face are really the most miserable inside.

Recently, one of these Miss Happy Sally Sunshine people started working in my office. And nobody can stand her. We all want to slap her. Every word out of her mouth sounds fake. She uses so much word vomit to express a simple thought, it makes out heads want to explode. A stupid teeth-baring smile is constantly plastered on her face. She kisses the asses of everyone who walks past her desk. It’s disgusting.

The trick to happiness is keeping a healthy balance.
In the wise words of the band 311's song "Down"…
"Keep your feet on the ground
Keep your head in the clouds"

Why is Love so Difficult?

Caught in a battle between love and hate, right and wrong, anger and sadness, regret and hope, frustration and urgency, confusion and knowing. Knowing that if you let this person go, you will never again find anyone like them.

This is life. This is love. When you’re little, you think it will be simple. Love is never simple. Some day, I would like answers. Supposedly, the whole intention of life is to live your way into the answers. Sometimes, the wait crushes your spirit - but you just have to keep going ... so that one day, you might find that answer.

Together, we could climb mountains. But first, we must let go of fear.

When she was just a girl
She expected the world,
But it flew away from her reach
So she ran away in her sleep
And dreamed of
Paradise

Never be afraid to set sail

To See the World in a Grain of Sand

To see a world in a grain of sand,

And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Sad to think that the average human will only experience an average of 70 summers in their lifetime. It’s easy to find beauty in every season, but summer is filled with such hope, such life, such vibrancy.  No matter the season, having adventures in nature is good for the soul.

Oh the Places You'll Go

Charge forward to greet your life!
Hinding in the shadows never created greatness.

It takes courage to do something you have never done before.
But the stories! Think of the stories!
Your life IS your story. Make it a good one.
